This Saturday, things came together beautifully and I ended up having a total day of sisterhood!
The morning began with a long walk with my dog, Byron, then brunch with a few of my favorite ladies, followed by boutique browsing. Later in the afternoon, I attended a special presentation by the new Director of the Women's Institute at Chatham University, Dr. Ramey, who I've been so looking forward to meeting!
The event was part of the alumni weekend at Chatham, and I was by far the youngest gal in the room -- everyone else was celebrating a 40-50 year reunion!
Even though there was an obvious age gap, there were a few things that each of the women said made their time at Chatham invaluable, and gave them an edge in the workplace and in their lives at large. I should also note that each of these women had INCREDIBLE stories, held advanced degrees, have success in their lives, looked amazingly youthful for their ages, and have lived extremely rich, fulfilling lives.
These three things were leadership, empowerment, and sisterhood.
They each agreed that they hadn't necessarily known that they needed these pillars coming into college, but when they left, the only way they could describe their effect was that "something magical" had happened to them, and they hadn't been aware of it while it was happening.
I couldn't agree more, and I also realized how much my experience at Chatham, being immersed in sisterhood 24/7 for 3 years has influenced the core of what I've created in my business, what I believe in, and what I confidently know is proven to work wonders for women, throughout time, regardless of age.
Sisterhood has become a huge theme, value, and cornerstone in my life, and continues to be, because each time I spend quality time with my soul-sisters, I'm reminded of the power, magic, and beauty that is created for everyone through these exchanges.
And this is the EXACT reason that I've decided to create a brand spankin' new program, which will combine sisterhood AND 1:1 coaching to give YOU the same type of magical edge these women were referring to, that changed their lives entirely, no matter your goal.
One of the most striking things that happened Saturday was that one of the alums said to me, "It's great that you have so much energy and want to change the world, but remember to be patient. I thought I was going to change the world, too, when I first graduated from college, and in my 20s, but to this day, my greatest accomplishment is raising my two sons to be respectful and understand of women, and conscious citizens."
Her comment was SO striking to me because I don't think that raising two exceptional sons who understand the challenges women face is any different than changing the world. In my opinion, changing the world means leaving it better than you found it, and doing something to move it forward using your passion and expertise. Raising children who are aware is just as world-changing as starting a non-profit in my book -- in sisterhood, we create a safe space where there is no comparison, only inspiration, and where every woman is valued for her uniqueness.
If you couldn't already tell, I'm SUPER passionate about sisterhood and changing the world. I prefer to work with women because not only have I been a leader, mentor, and sister of other women for the majority of my life, which allows me to really understand women very well. But I deeply believe that women are the world's most potent power source, and that if we're able to leverage our inherently feminine gifts together, we can rapidly change the world from the inside, out.
At the 2010 World Peace Summit, the Dalai Lama satate that "the world will be saved by the western woman." If that's the case, we have both a huge opportunity and a huge responsibility to define and claim our own success and freedom, so that we can truly save the world.
And here's the thing: huge change has to start WITHIN you and be fully embodied to truly make an impact.
And this is precisely why, on June 29th, I am inviting 10 exceptional women to join me on an 8-week jumpstarting, life-changing journey in my new program, Freedom Is Sexy. Together, we'll meet for 1:1 coaching and sister circles to design AND start to fully embody a life that totally turns you on!
Watch the video below RIGHT NOW, so I can fill you in on all the details of the program, including why I believe Freedom Is Sexy, and what that means to me!
The program will be starting on June 29th, but you'll have to reserve a spot QUICKLY so that you don't miss out! As I mentioned, space is VERY limited. On top of that, this is a one-time offer and it's super affordable!
Over our 8 weeks together, what you won't be seeing is generic material that's pre-recorded. I want to celebrate your uniqueness with you, and that means one size definitely does NOT fit all. You WILL be getting highly custom and individualized information during our bi-weekly 1:1 coaching sessions together.
During each of the 4 weeks when we don't meet for a 1:1 call, you'll receive the support of a like-minded sisterhood to help you integrate and embody all the changes you're creating for yourself. We'll be meeting on Google Hangouts for sister circle calls led by yours truly, to support one another with challenges, celebrate our successes, ask questions, and stay inspired!
You'll also have access to the private and exclusive Freedom Is Sexy Facebook group, where you will share updates, resources, information, support, and inspiration with our sisterhood of ambitious, amazing women -- just like you!
I can't wait to have the opportunity to help you feel empowered, become a leader in your own life, and embrace the magic of sisterhood!
Love & Light,
