Exploring Your Realm of Possibility

What is your realm of possibility? If you were to literally explore it, what would it look like?

Visualize this realm of possibility:

Is it a straight, narrow highway?

Is a refreshing winding river of crisp rushing water?

Is it a supernova of passion and possibility?

Is it expansive or contractive?

Now consider how the concept of possibility you're holding is serving you. Would you be better off envisioning your realm of possibility in a different way?

The thing about belief is that it doesn't matter how "TRUE" it really is - what matters is solely how it's serving you. Ask yourself "how is this serving me?" about every belief you have - especially the ones that act as roadblocks on your path to your most magnificent dreams. I honestly don't care if you can come up with a list of 50 reasons of why you don't believe you are smart/witty/intelligent/beautiful/kind/giving/etc. in the next 2 minutes. That belief doesn't serve you. Let it go!

Let's say you want to start a nonprofit organization, and you BELIEVE there to be no money in it for you - that's why you haven't done it yet. How does that serve you? The answer is… It doesn't!

Instead of driving you toward a goal that would help you improve the lives of so many people, it limits you. In essence, it tells you that if you pursue this goal, you will be broke and miserable, that it's not a sustainable concept, and that survival isn't possible. It doesn't satisfy your human need for safety and security.

Now let's reframe: What could you choose to believe instead?

You can choose to believe that money is a tool and a resource, and that it is abundant and free-flowing in your life. Repeat this affirmation to yourself daily - post it on sticky notes in your car, on your bathroom mirror, and in your office. CHOOSE to believe that this is the case. This option satisfies your need for human survival - safety & security. It allows you to work toward that goal because you have faith that money will work itself out, and that is no longer a barrier for you.

Let's take this reframe a step further, and label your organization "for purpose" instead. The term "nonprofit" is such a misnomer in my book - I don't think many people wake up and say "YAY! Today I get to make NO PROFIT! That's okay, because my time and energy aren't worth anything to anyone so let's just cover the bases and not be rewarded." Now what does this reframe do for you? By thinking of your future organization as a "for purpose," you're placing the emphasis on the fact that your business serves others and helps create massive change in our world, instead of focusing on what it doesn't do, or on what's lacking - the (NON) turning of a profit. In other words, this belief now has a positive orientation.

It's sort of like if you created a new product - let's say it's a pencil - and called it a non-pen. You're not telling anyone what you DO or what you CREATED, you're essentially telling them what you don't do. You're not making a convincing argument for whatever it is that you're offering the world - you're only focusing on the weaknesses, as opposed to the strengths.

We have the power to create our own reality - we humans are powerful creators of our universe . Don't put all that divine power to waste and get in your own way of being successful and having the life you dream of! Don't abuse this beautiful resource. Instead, actively construct your world.

If I could shout it from the rooftops, I would! But for now, I'll just have to repeat myself for emphasis:

You are a powerful creator!

Now say to yourself OUT LOUD:

"I am a powerful creator of my universe. I can, and will, choose to only accept beliefs that propel me toward my dreams. I am constantly constructing my own reality. I am letting go of the limiting thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve me in following my ultimate bliss."

Go create something beautiful for yourself and for others…. RIGHT NOW!

All my love,

Emily
